Factors like sugar consumption, stress, and environmental toxins all contribute to inflammation in the body. Here are our five top anti-inflammatory foods.

Turmeric

The words ‘turmeric’ and ‘anti-inflammatory’ are pretty much synonymous at this point! Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, which contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Team your turmeric with a little black pepper to aid your body’s absorption of curcumin, like in a turmeric latte.

Dark chocolate

Yay! Dark chocolate is rich in flavanols and polyphenols which contain antioxidants. Enjoy a few squares of 70% (or higher) cacao dark chocolate to reap the benefits.

Ginger

This zesty spice contains a compound called gingerol, which has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. We love ginger in our Soulara curries and in lemon and ginger tea!

Berries

Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries all contain antioxidants called anthocyanins, which have anti-inflammatory effects that may reduce your risk of disease. We love eating berries in smoothies and in our Ruby Sunrise Chia Pudding

Green tea

Rich in catechins (an antioxidant), green tea helps fight the inflammatory effects of harmful free radicals in the body. Regular green tea consumption has also been shown to enhance metabolism and improve your mood and brain health.
